Date October 2024
Location Syria / Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz (OKAS airbase)
Type mission report (MISREP)
Pages 10

AREC mission from 482ATKS. Received multiple guard calls and observed 1x UAP at 1829Z.

UAPSyriaStrait of HormuzARECguard calls

A "misshapen and uneven ball of white light" flashed repeatedly across the full motion video feed over 85 minutes. Five distinct appearances between 1559Z and 1644Z on October 20, 2024 -- sometimes crossing the camera directly, sometimes manifesting as a halo at the top of the frame. The crew explicitly ruled out a hostile lasing event. They characterized the object's physical state as plasma. Clear weather, aircraft orbiting at 20,088 feet and 144 knots over Syria. No explanation found.

  • Five distinct light/glare observations over 85 minutes (1559Z, 1602Z, 1609Z, 1620Z, 1644Z)
  • Phenomena manifested as both direct camera crossings and halo effects at top of FMV feed
  • Physical state assessed as plasma; described as "misshapen and uneven ball of white light"
  • Aircrew explicitly assessed this was NOT a lasing event (ruled out hostile laser)
  • No intelligent control detected; no advanced capabilities; classified as benign
  • UAP showed no change in response to observation
  • Friendly aircraft in orbit at 20,088 feet, 144 knots; clear weather conditions
  • No effects on persons or equipment
  • Total mission time: 20 hours 24 minutes with 3 ISR taskings completed

key_assessments
  • Not a lasing event (aircrew determined)
  • No intelligent control detected
  • No advanced materials or capabilities identified
  • Physical state: Plasma
  • No threat to personnel or equipment
  • No materials recovered
  • Classified as benign phenomenon
  • Transient event (flash across sensor feed)
  • No follow-up reaction from UAP to observation
notes
  • Plasma designation suggests possible natural phenomenon or sensor artifact
  • Aircrew actively ruled out hostile laser (lasing event)
  • Location coordinates suggest same grid square as target area
  • Movement radius: 5-15 meters estimated
  • All kinetic parameters listed as estimated (no measurement instruments used for quantification)
  • E-4 rank observer indicates enlisted technician with sensor operator experience
  • No third-party corroboration documented

  • Phenomenon type: Light/glare from unknown origin
  • Color: White
  • Shape: Misshapen, uneven
  • Size: Unspecified (but described as ball)
UAP_EVENT_NARRATIVE
  • Duration: 1559Z-1644Z (85 minutes total observation window)
  • Multiple observations: Multiple glares or light from unknown origin at different angles and directions
  • Specific timestamps:

phenomenon_characteristics
  • Light phenomenon manifested in multiple ways:
  • - Direct camera crossing (straight line across field of view)
  • - Halo effect (diffuse glow around top of image)
  • Consistent white color throughout observations
  • No association with vehicles or military equipment observed
  • Occurred during clear weather conditions
  • Observed from high-altitude platform at stable altitude in orbit
timing_analysis
  • Observation interval: 85 minutes (1559Z-1644Z)
  • 5 distinct light phenomena documented within window
  • 45-minute gap between first observation (1559Z) and second (1602Z)
  • 7-minute interval for halo effect pair (1609Z and 1620Z)
  • Final observation 24 minutes after halo effects (1644Z)
  • Patterns suggest intermittent or pulsed phenomenon
